About Skip
I am a lifelong resident of northern Nevada. I have always felt that participation and service in the community is important. I have worked hard to find ways to improve education in our state.
I spent 18 years as a journeyman laborer before moving on to my current position as the Business Manager for Laborers Local 169. In this position I have had the good fortune and honor to represent and support working families on a daily basis.
I have been married for 35 years this May to my wife, Lisa. Together we have enjoyed raising our two children, Sara (31) and Brian (28). I have had the privilege of serving on the board of the United Way of Northern Nevada, the Sparks Citizens Advisory Committee, the Sparks Charter Committee, and serving four terms in the Nevada Assembly representing District 31.
It was my honor to represent Assembly District 31 during the 2011, 2013, 2017 and 2019 legislative sessions. In the Nevada State Senate I will work to find real solutions to the problems and needs facing our state. I look forward to building on my record to improve our schools, protect the right to vote and help Nevada’s working families.
